'How do we keep track of multiple complex marketing campaigns? Keep up-to-date, and monitor all of these projects in one place?'
Project Title: Marketing Campaign Calendar
Industry: Technology Marketing
Background:
In a fast moving organisation, Marketing has to co-ordinate many campaigns across a broad range of target segments.
Each marketing activity has a number of people involved (marketing, legal, design, technical etc) and the products being marketed all have their own schedules and importance.
It is difficult to keep track of all of the activity and make sense of it in a simple view.
Challenge:
- our client needed a tool which would enable them to see their marketing campaigns in one consolidated view
- that view could be drilled down into to view the individuals involved and the progress of those individual projects
- when multiple marketing campaigns are being run at the same time, slippage may occur and follow-on activities could be presented
- a single interface, available to all providing a view of the entire marketing campaign activity
Development Approach:
An internet based approach was approved and we went ahead to design a single interface to present an “at-a-glance” view of all activities on a single screen.

The Outcome:
A web based intranet was put together that displays over 200 individual campaigns and/or milestones in one place.
The campaign details are all managed online and can be updated immediately. The whole marketing department can now stay up-to-date on current and up-coming campaigns.
All team members involved in a campaign can easily see who else they are working with leading to:
- improved communication,
- always up-to-date
- simple consistent tool for all teams to use
- no room for amiguity, everyone is clear on what they are assigned to
The Bottom Line:
The project was conceived and delivered over a 6 week period. The fixed price budget acheived payback within 7 weeks through better use of time and fewer marketing delays.
